Spring Painting in Reception

Painting in Reception
Reception have been using paint to explore colour mixing. The children enjoyed experimenting with different colours and discovering what happens when two colours are mixed together to make a new one.
They talked about primary colours and used them to create a range of new shades. The children had lots of fun predicting what colour they thought they would make before mixing the paints.
Once they had created new colours, they used them to print beautiful tulip shapes using potatoes. The children dipped the potato stamps into the paint and carefully pressed them onto the paper to make bright and colourful spring pictures.
It was a lovely creative activity and a great way for the children to explore colours, patterns and printing while celebrating the signs of spring.
Well done Reception!
