Reception - Outdoor Learning

Reception recently visited Willow Wood to explore the signs of spring as part of their outdoor learning.

The children enjoyed observing their surroundings and were excited to spot seasonal changes. They had the opportunity to look closely at a bird’s nest and talk about how birds build their homes.

Working collaboratively with a partner, the children then gathered natural materials to create their own nests. They showed great teamwork, creativity and care as they designed and built safe spaces for birds.

It was a lovely, hands-on experience that supported both their understanding of the natural world and their communication and co-operation skills.
