Year 2 Build Confidence and Skills in PE

Year 2 pupils at Burtonwood Community Primary School had a fantastic PE lesson this week as they tackled the apparatus in the hall. The session featured a range of equipment, including ropes, balance beams, benches, and the climbing frame, giving children the chance to develop their co-ordination, strength, and balance.

For some, the idea of climbing or balancing at a height was a little daunting at first. However, with encouragement from their teachers and classmates, they showed great perseverance and determination. By demonstrating the HPL skills of confidence and risk-taking, they embraced new challenges and stepped outside their comfort zones.

As the lesson went on, their confidence grew, and many overcame their initial fears to attempt more difficult tasks. The children had a great time exploring different ways to move across the equipment, improving their agility and problem-solving skills along the way. By the end of the session, there was a real sense of achievement, as they celebrated their progress and newfound abilities.

It was wonderful to see Year 2 supporting each other and pushing themselves to try something new. The lesson not only helped them develop their physical skills but also reinforced the importance of resilience, teamwork, and a willingness to take on challenges with confidence.

Well done Year 2!
