Year 6 Would you Risk It? Workshop

Year 6 pupils took part in an eye-opening and highly informative workshop on risk-taking, delivered by dedicated volunteers.

The session focused on helping pupils understand the risks they may encounter, particularly as they prepare for the transition to high school.

The workshop covered a range of important topics, including the dangers of carrying knives, cyberbullying, vaping, and physical safety concerns such as water safety around canals. Pupils also learned about the risks of stranger danger and the serious consequences of carrying packages, particularly in relation to county lines drug dealing.

To engage pupils further, the session included interactive activities where they worked in groups to categorise different scenarios and rank them based on the level of danger and potential consequences. This hands-on approach helped reinforce key messages and encouraged thoughtful discussions about the impact of different risks.

The workshop was incredibly informative, equipping pupils with the knowledge and awareness they need to make safer choices in the future.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who dedicated their time to delivering such an impactful session.
