Warrington Borough Council Supports Year 6 Pupils with Road Safety and Independent Travel

Today, Year 6 pupils received an invaluable visit from a representative of Warrington Borough Council, who delivered an engaging and informative session focused on road safety and independent travel.

As pupils prepare for the important transition from primary to secondary school, the session aimed to equip them with the knowledge and confidence needed to travel independently. With many children beginning to walk, cycle, or take public transport on their own for the first time, the visit provided essential guidance on staying safe on the roads.

The session covered key topics such as safe crossing points, the importance of being visible to drivers, and how to navigate busy roads and public transport safely. Pupils were encouraged to think about their journeys to and from school and to develop the skills needed to travel confidently and responsibly.

By working closely with local schools, Warrington Borough Council continues to play a vital role in ensuring young people feel prepared and secure as they take their next steps towards greater independence.

The Year 6 pupils enjoyed the session, engaging in discussions and activities that reinforced the importance of road safety.

Thank you to Warrington Borough Council for their time and commitment to supporting our pupils as they prepare for this exciting new chapter.
